Branding and visual identity
Our institution has one brand: the University of Arkansas. We have a wide variety of units, centers, areas, departments, schools and colleges, but they are all under the umbrella of the University of Arkansas. A clear statement of brand is made by logo placement, brand name, and consistency with the rest of the branded Web pages. To this end, all Web pages are required to have an official version of the University of Arkansas logo, or "University of Arkansas" in its official style, placed in the top left area of the page. Word marks may replace the official logo, provided the official logo is contained within the word mark. Furthermore the logo must meet the minimum size requirements as detailed below.
Minimum sizes for logos:
|
141px x 65px |
68px x 65px |
Colleges, academic departments and administrative units are prohibited from devising their own logos and/or word marks. Named colleges, such as the Sam M. Walton College of Business or the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, may have a logo provided it is consistent with the visual identity system and is designed with consultation and prior approval of University Relations. Other units that require a special "look" or visual treatment consistent with the graphic identity system should contact University Relations at 575-5555. Word marks and individualized logos that contain the official University of Arkansas logo may replace the above official logo, provided that the replacement logo's usage of the official logo meets the above requirements.
The University of Arkansas Seal
The seal should be used primarily on certificates, legal documents, diplomas, transcripts, and items of an equally official nature, although use on publications and Web pages is allowed in certain instances. Approval for use of the University of Arkansas seal on communication materials should be requested by calling University Relations at 575-5555.
