The University of Arkansas Libraries consist of the David W. Mullins Library (the main facility), the Fine Arts Library, Chemistry Library, Physics Library and the Robert A. & Vivian Young Law Library. These libraries contain more than 1.7 million volumes, 5.4 million microforms, 22,400 audio-visual items and 18,100 periodical subscriptions. The University Libraries also offer electronic access to more than 16,700 online journals in a wide variety of subject areas.
The Special Collections Department houses more than 1,400 manuscript collections that document the history, culture, and literature of Arkansas and surrounding regions and provides access to historical manuscripts, archives, maps, photographs, music and published materials to support scholarly investigation of the state, its customs and people, and its cultural, physical and political climate.
The University Libraries' online catalog, InfoLinks, provides information on materials held by the libraries and serves as a gateway to the libraries' numerous electronic full-text databases and indexes, as well as to library catalogs all over the world. Almost all library databases can be accessed and searched remotely by University of Arkansas faculty, staff and students. Reference service is provided in each library and is also available via telephone, e-mail and 24 hour chat.
