The
CAMPUSVOICE is a new student-run newspaper of
the University of Arkansas devoted to the interests of the
students.
Our
No. 1 goal is to fill the gap between student's interests
and those of UA officials, the city of Fayetteville and our
state and national government. In pursuit of this goal, we
urge students to submit writings, tell us what is important
to students, and let students' voices be heard by those who
need to hear it.

We
hope our generation is not as apathetic as we've been labeled.
We know there are issues not being addressed that students
care about. We don't want to tell the students what the news
is; we want students to tell us.
By
addressing an issue in the CAMPUSVOICE, students
will have their message carried abroad. Each edition of the
CAMPUSVOICE will be mailed directly to local
officials, including UA Chancellor John White, Fayetteville
Mayor Dan Coody and state representative Jan Judy. In addition,
copies of the CAMPUSVOICE will be distributed
throughout the city as well as the campus.
As
our name implies, CAMPUSVOICE strives to be
the newspaper voicing the unrestrained opinions of university
students.
Furthermore,
we intend to reinterpret journalism and give our newspaper
the freedom, creativity and vision we feel is lacking in other
newspapers.
In doing this, the CAMPUSVOICE will solicit
input from the students. We appreciate letters to the editor,
suggestions and story ideas. We also intend to serve the artistic
community on campus by publishing submitted photos and scanable
artwork at no charge.
Other
services the CAMPUSVOICE will provide is a complete
listing of city entertainment and events on our website www.uark.edu/studorg/freepres,
along with additional stories not published in our print edition
and extended versions of stories not available to print in
their entirety.
We aim
to bring students a better newspaper every time they pick up
an issue of CAMPUSVOICE, as we continually search
for new ideas. Help us carry the voice of the students… the
CAMPUSVOICE.
