Hispanic Heritage Month : September 15 - October 15
America celebrates the culture and traditions of U.S. residents who trace their roots to Spain, Mexico and Spanish-speaking nations in Central America, South America and the Caribbean. This year marks the 20th annual celebration since 1988, when the observance was expanded by President Ronald Reagan to a month-long commemoration, beginning September 15 and ending October 15.
The Hispanic Heritage Month Committee at the University of Arkansas has planned community-wide events with lectures, an off- Broadway play, a Campus Day for high school students, as well as "Paza de las Americas" a display and performances from different Hispanic countries, topped off with an entertaining late night program in our campus, Friday Night live.
