CONSTITUTION OF STUDENT PAGAN ASSOCIATION
AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS

PREAMBLE We, the Student Pagan Association (S.P.A.) at the University of Arkansas, have organized for the purpose of providing support for students whose religious beliefs do not fall in the mainstream and to supply information about alternative religions and the Pagan lifestyle.

ARTICLE I -- Membership

  1. Membership requirements: members must pay a yearly due of $5.00. 75% of members must be U of A students, faculty or staff.
  2. Student members must be taking 6 credit hours or more and have a GPA of 2.25 or better.
  3. All members should be objective and have a sincere interest in alternative religions and cross-cultural diversity.

ARTICLE II -- Officers

  1. Officers will be elected every spring semester. The officers are the president, vice-president, secretary/treasurer, and the parliamentarian.
  2. Duties of officers are as follows:
    1. President - Call together organizational meetings and insure that the requirements of the Registered Student Organization are met.
    2. Vice-President - Fulfill the duties of the president as seen fit in the absence of the president.
    3. Secretary/Treasurer - Keep records of organizational activities and funds, and collect dues.
    4. Parliamentarian - Maintain order and under the general consent of the congress and with the majority vote of the voting members, the parliamentarian can eject any persons engaging in disruptive behavior (See Article IV, Section D).

ARTICLE III -- Meetings

  1. This organization will hold weekly meetings. Dates will be set by general consensus among members.

ARTICLE IV -- Miscellaneous

  1. The Student Pagan Association does not condone any members, voting or non-voting, engaging in destructive behavior towards personal or public property, or the taking of life for any reason.
  2. Public relations activity will be undertaken by individual members in accordance with the functions of the organization.
  3. Expenditures must be cleared by a vote, with no less than four-fifths of the present members in favor of the expenditure.
  4. Disruptive behavior will be defined as any verbal abuse with the intent to slander, or any physical abuse.

ARTICLE V -- Amendments

  1. Amendments to this constitution will be passed by a two-thirds majority vote in general congress.
