Navigating Legal Issues in Advising - A Workshop

The 2008 University of Arkansas Outstanding Advisor Awards recipients for the 2007-2008 academic year are Dave Dawson from the J. William Fulbright College of Arts & Sciences as the outstanding professional advisor and Lyna Lee Montgomery also from the J. William Fulbright College of Arts & Sciences as the outstanding faculy advisor.
The award recipients receive $2,500, are recognized at a reception held in their honor during the fall semester, and are nominated for the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) advising awards. Recipients were selected from a pool of nominees by the Academic Advising Council for their overwhelming evidence of qualities and practices that distinguish them as outstanding advisors.


Navigating Legal Issues in Advising - A Workshop
A free workshop on Navigating Legal Issues in Advising involves speakers from the General Council and the Registrar's Office. The information covered can help avoid lawsuits associated with student privacy laws.
The workshop includes lunch, and there are two times to choose from:
March 10, 11:30-1:30
March 11, 12:00-2:00
The workshop location is the Graduate Education Building, Room 166 foyer.
