The City of Fayetteville strives to protect and improve its citizens quality of life by listening and serving the people with pride and fairness.

Northwest Arkansas Council

Northwest Arkansas Council was organized in 1990 as a private, nonprofit regional development organization to promote the growth, vitality and development of Northwest Arkansas by applying the knowledge, creativity and leadership of its members to develop regional solutions that address the challenges and opportunities facing the region. From its beginning as an advocate for planning solutions that address these challenges and opportunities, the Council has been an active catalyst in uniting communities and organizations to accomplish regional goals and objectives.

Fayetteville Economic Development Committee (FEDC)

FEDC is a "not-for-profit" organization founded in 2004 by the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce, the City of Fayetteville, and the University of Arkansas. It is designed to serve as Fayetteville's single point of contact for economic development.  FEDC is funded by private investments from local businesses. FEDC receives no tax dollars. Currently we have 67 investors. Day-to-day operations are guided by an eleven person executive board. Three executive board members are "by position": the Mayor, Chairperson of the Chamber, and the Chancellor. Six are elected by the "board members" that invest a minimum of $5,000 per year for three years, and two directors are elected by the "members" who invest less than $5,000 per year.

Accelerate Arkansas

Accelerate Arkansas proposes to accelerate Arkansas' statewide development of knowledge-based industries. Accelerate Arkansas intends to provide leadership for Arkansas to better prepare itself for the economy of the 21st century. Positioning Arkansas so that it can create and grow higher paying jobs will be a key success factor in determining its future economic performance. We must take short-term steps to position our state for optimal long-term results. Our goal is to increase Arkansas' per capita income to the U.S. average by 2020. Accelerate Arkansas is a statewide group of volunteers working under the Arkansas Economic Acceleration Foundation, a non-profit organization and a member of the Arkansas Capital Corporation Group. Accelerate Arkansas emerged from efforts being made by the Arkansas Department of Economic Development's Task Force for the Creation of Knowledge-Based Jobs and leadership of the Arkansas Venture Forum.
