Academic Exchange Program
The University of Arkansas may send up to nine students to participate in the Academic Exchange Program. Participating students must be U.S. citizens.Deadlines for U.S. Students
• Applications are due October 1 for the following spring semester.
• Applications are due March 1 for the following summer semester.
• Applications are due April 1 for the following fall semester.
American graduate students in good academic standing who wish to apply should submit the following documents by e-mail to the program contact person at their home university. (See application deadlines above.)
- A 300-word letter explaining interest in and qualifications for studying at a European partner institution and discussing any previous relationship, if any with that institution. It is suggested that the letter include information on language proficiency and research/study experience relating to the chosen institution. The letter should also include a statement about what the student hopes to accomplish while on the program and how the experience will benefit his or her ability to conduct biorenewables research.

Once accepted, the student will work with his or her advisor to identify a professor at the EU host institution to develop a plan of study for the proposed visit. A formal Learning Agreement will be developed with Dr. Andrew Proctor's assistance, describing the UA courses to be registered for and the corresponding work to be done at the host institution. A responsible faculty member at the home and host institution will be identified on the Learning Agreement.

Students will also work with DeDe Long in the University of Arkansas Office of Study Abroad and International Exchange to complete visa requirements.
Post-study evaluation will include:
- Posters or other public research output including meeting papers or refereed papers.
- Student credit hours earned.
- Host professor evaluation of language improvement.
- 500-word critical reflection on the student mobility experience.
