The University of Arkansas hosts a wide variety of clubs and organizations.  The Horticulture Club is set apart from other clubs in numerous ways.  There is no annual fee or dues to become a member and everyone is welcome to join, no matter what your major.  The sole purpose of the club is to educate others about the principles of Arkansas Horticulture.  We do this in many ways.

First, the club has bimonthly meetings to ensure the members know what is going on.  We vote on high interest topics and form committees to deal with various horticultural tasks.  More times than not, free food or beverages are provided at these meetings to show our appreciation to the members.

We also try to use the club to educate others and further our learning as well.  We organize field trips and arrange for seminars and lectures pertaining to all horticultural fields of interest.  If you are into small fruits, alternative agriculture, turf, woody plants or anything else horticultural-based, we can arrange an educational experience for you.

Our club publishes a monthly newsletter informing students and faculty of the outcome of past events and reminding them of upcoming ones.  The Executive Committee consists of the officers and meets as needed to discuss club status.  The officers are readily available for consultation.

As everyone knows, experience is a very useful tool in the horticultural field, and looks good on a resume.  One of the most renowned aspects of our club is the Spring Plant Sale.  Members are solely responsible for the production, care and sale of hundreds of plants that generate a large amount of income for the club.  In return, the club offers a point system to the members in order to receive book scholarships and/or credits for the numerous trips we like to take.  We establish workdays and encourage members to participate in this exciting and educational experience.

If you would like more information about our club, feel free to contact an officer or one of the club advisors.  The contact information is on the Officer's Page.  We are looking forward to hearing from you.
