Engineering Team
The team responsible for bringing the projector back to use and constructing the planetarium are Walter Graupner (space center laboratory manager, right) and Jerry Holmesley (master scientific research technician in the chemistry and biochemistry department, left). Claud Lacy, chair of the astronomy program stands at the front appears in the center. For other pictures of the projector, click here.
Ahmed El Shafie erected the planetarium building, under the guidance of Walter Graupner, and the dome was assembled with the help of a crew of volunteers. Shown here Jackie Denson, Dan Ostrowski, Ahmed, Robert Pilgrim and Vincent Chevrier. All are students in the space and planetary sciences graduate program, except for Vincent who is a researcher in the Arkansas Center for Space and Planetary Sciences.
