Early modern humanism was informed by the broad study of antiquity, including literature, art, architecture, philosophy, and political theory. Classics has therefore been interdisciplinary from its origins, and it continues to evolve in response to new approaches (like poststructuralism, gender theory, and post-colonial theory) and new technologies. The classical studies faculty at the University of Arkansas is drawn from four departments, and additional courses are taught by faculty in Art and the School of Architecture.
