This website was developed by personnel at the University of Arkansas , American Indian Center of Arkansas, the Cherokee Nation and the Choctaw Nation to provide Native American farmers and ranchers risk management information relevant to their operations.
For the past five years, the University of Arkansas has provided risk management education to minority farmers that have limited access to risk management information. For over three years, those efforts were directed towards Native American producers. Thanks to the support of the USDA - Risk Management Agency (RMA), USDA - Cooperative State Research Education and Extension Service (CSREES) and the Southern Region Risk Management Education Center (SRRMEC); the successful program developed for Native Americans has been redirected towards the growing Hispanic population.
On this website, we hope to provide technical assistance through materials of our guide book, information regarding upcoming workshops, conferences with a Native American, Hispanic and/or risk management theme, and links to other sources of risk management information in English and Spanish.
This website is a continual work in progress. Please share with us your thoughts as well as any information which would be appropriate for this website.
