On August 29, 2008 MPPOC’s president Emile Phaneuf and vice president/treasurer Khosbayar (Hosa) Rentsendorj sat down with UA’s executive director of development Mark Power to discuss the financial need to create military/veteran-friendly scholarships by appointment of Chancellor Gearhart. The discussion included a formal proposal to create an endowment worth roughly $1,072,000.

If granted, the above sum would create the revenue needed to sustain a continuing $43,000 yearly for 12 scholarships.
