Fees and Registration
The Suzuki Music School of Arkansas registers
students on a semester basis. Fall and Spring semesters each cover
18 weeks of lessons. Each student receives one private lesson a
week and attends regularly scheduled group classes. In addition,
Suzuki students are invited to perform at monthly recitals at the
Walton Art Center.
Scheduling for Summer Lessons at SMSA
is arranged between teachers and students. Fees for summer lessons
are based on the number of lessons taken. There are not regularly
scheduled group classes during summer sessions
Tuition rates for the 2007-2008 school
year are as follows:
$414 30 minute lessons
$550 45 minute lessons

All new students are required to pay their
tuition in full at the beginning of each semester for the first
year. After that time new families may make a request to the Suzuki
Music School administration to begin making monthly payments. The
University of Arkansas accepts Visa, Mastercard, and Discover for
tuition paid in full. They do not accept credit cards for monthly
payments.

of the month and mailed to:

The University of Arkansas charges a $25 late
fee for any payments postmarked after the 15th of the
month.
All students are required to pay tuition for a full semester, even
if they elect to discontinue lessons.
Registration Procedure for New
Students
· Contact the Suzuki Music School of
Arkansas office at 479-575-5250 or
smsa@uark.edu
· Schedule a visit to SMSA that includes a meeting with
the SMSA director and lesson observations.
· If there are no immediate openings in a particular
studio, submit a request to have your name put on a waiting list.
· Complete Every Child Can! The introductory
course is required for new SMSA families.
· Begin a regimen of listening, lesson observations, and
SMSA recital attendance.
· When you are able to schedule lessons with a teacher,
you will receive a registration form from the SMSA office. Tuition
payment will be returned to the Division of Continuing Education at
the address noted above.
· New families must pay tuition in full at the beginning
of each semester for their first year of study. After that time,
they may request making payments.
· New families who enroll after the semester has begun
will have their tuition pro-rated.
Registration for Returning Students

All current students whose
accounts are paid in full are automatically registered for
each new semester. Parents will receive completed registration forms
in the mail.
· Please notify the SMSA office at 479-575-5250 or
smsa@uark.edu if the length of your lessons will change for the
upcoming semester.
· If you have completed a full year of study at SMSA and
wish to begin making payments for tuition, contact the SMSA office
to arrange a payment schedule.
· All payments are due on the 15th of the
month. The Division of Continuing Education keeps a record of
postmarks and assess a $25.00 late fee for payments mailed after the
monthly deadline.
· Payment for a full semester’s tuition is required,
even if a student elects to discontinue lessons.
SMSA Student Scholarships
The Suzuki Music School of Arkansas, in
cooperation with Friends of Suzuki, awards scholarships to
qualifying students. Students may apply for scholarship after
attending the school for one year. Scholarship applicants must
complete application forms and include documentation of family
income. In addition they must submit a letter of recommendation from
their private teacher that substantiates a history of consistent
practice and a commitment to musical growth. All scholarships are
subject to availability of funds. Contact the SMSA director to
receive a scholarship application.
