About Us
The Technology Licensing Office (TLO) helps faculty and research scientists to identify, protect, and commercialize intellectual property developed from their research or other university supported activities.
Each of our five-member team has an appointment in the Office of the Vice Provost for Research or the Division of Agriculture, or both. We work closely with the Office of Research Support and Sponsored Programs and the University of Arkansas Technology Development Foundation.
With the clear objective of facilitating the creation of a sustainable, knowledge-based economy, we engage inventors, faculty start-up/spin-out companies and businesses in transferring inventions into marketplace products and services.
As a condition of employment, University faculty and researchers have obligations pertaining to research conducted with university and third party support. Certain rights and rewards are due inventors/authors of intellectual property, as well. The university policies that cover these program are 210.1 and 210.2.
