Mark Swaney
Mark Swaney brings the Office of Technology Licensing 25 years experience as a mechanical engineer. Mark graduated from the University of Arkansas with his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1980. He then moved to Florida and worked for 6 years in the defense industry as a design engineer working on avionics and satellite communication equipment. In 1986 Mark returned to Arkansas and worked as a design and manufacturing engineer in northwest Arkansas.
In 1990, he returned to the University of Arkansas and began a graduate program in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Finite Element Analysis. Mark graduated with his Master's degree in 1992. After graduating, Mark went to work for the University in the Arkansas Center for Technology Transfer in the College of Engineering, and worked on a variety of design, testing, and analysis projects for the University and Arkansas industries. In 2005, he joined the Technology Licensing Office and handles various aspects of technology assessment, validation, patenting, marketing and licensing.
