Nathan McKinney, Ph.D
Nathan McKinney joined the Technology Licensing Office in January 2008 after enjoying two very different careers. He grew up in Fayetteville, graduating from the University of Arkansas with a BSA and MS in Agronomy before earning a PhD in Agronomy at Kansas State University in 1985.
Nathan worked as a soybean specialist at Mississippi State University, then worked with wheat and feed grains at the University of Arkansas Extension Service before his family’s business enticed him to return to Fayetteville. Nathan spent twelve years developing his sales and marketing skills before the Division of Agriculture asked him to become the Technology Licensing Officer.
I’m thrilled to serve the Division of Agriculture! Our scientists are developing fascinating technology and transferring these intellectual properties to business and industry can have a huge economic and social impact.
Nathan is responsible for various aspects of assessing technology, patenting, licensing and marketing. He and his wife Susie have two children, Ginger and Baker.
