The department will be celebrating this milestone all year long with special lectures and events. The culmination of the festivities will be the weekend of April 3-5, 2008, which will feature the Centennial Maurer Distinguished Lecture by Wolfgang Ketterle, the John D. MacArthur Professor of Physics at M.I.T., Director of the Harvard-MIT Center for Ultracold Atoms, and a winner of the 2001 Nobel Prize in physics. Also on tap are special talks and lab tours, exhibits, a banquet, and a faculty and alumni reunion. All events except the banquet are free and open to the public.
