24 Hour Play Festival - William Inge Center for the Arts
Three members of the Department of Drama were invited to participate in the 24 Hour Play Festival that was sponsored by the William Inge Center for the Arts which is located in Independence, Kansas. Congratulations to Jae-Hyeong Sim (3rd year MFA Directing Candidate), Molly Carroll (Junior Drama Major), and Adam E. Douglas (2nd year MFA Playwriting Candidate).
MFA Playwriting Candiate Wins Award
During the Summer of 2009, Adam's 10 minute play "Stand Up" was chosen as a winner in the National "Your 8x10 Goes Here Playwriting Contest" and was subsequently produced and performed by The ARts Studio, Inc. in Beaumont, Texas.
MFA Design Candidate Featured at the Arundel Barn Playhouse
Brian Saxton served as the Technical Director and guest Set Designer at the Arundel Barn Playhouse in Arundel just outside of Kennebunkport, Maine.
Recent MFA Graduate Clinnesha Sibley Starts AATG
Clinnesha's involvement in Fayetteville’s burgeoning arts community inspired her to establish the African-American Theatre Group (AATG), which is Northwest Arkansas’ first and only company committed to staging the stories of African-American culture and tradition. Through the AATG, Clinnesha provides touring opportunities for local performing artists and presents Drama/Playwriting workshops to underserved thespians.
