His work was showcased at the National Design Exhibit at the Kennedy Center.

Regional Irene Ryan Acting Audition Competition

Of the seven actors entered in the Regional Irene Ryan Acting Audition Competition, all seven advanced from preliminary rounds (among a field of 170 competitors) to the semifinal round (32 actors) and three, Shana Goodsell, Stan Tabor and Mark Smith, advanced to the “final 16.” Of this group, Stan Tabor was named a “National Alternate” (a bronze medal, so to speak) and partner Lauren Halyard had the distinct honor of earning “Best Partner” recognition in all three rounds of competition, receiving the prestigious “Lee Hicks Best Partner” award.

Larry Davi's RENDEZVOUS

Also under the auspices of KC/ACTF, undergraduate playwright Larry Davi's short play RENDEZVOUS was presented at the Arkansan College Theatre Festival.

Cover the Walls

Seven of our students attended the national meeting of the US Institute for Theatre Technology in Denver, Colorado, and participated in portfolio review, scene and lighting design workshops, and computer-aided design programs. Michael Micucci, Shannon Short and Chet Longley exhibited their design work in the “Cover the Walls” showcase.

Not-A-Penny Productions

Under the leadership of undergraduate drama student Kevin Cohea, students continued to develop their own theatre troupe, Not-A-Penny Productions. Eight productions, a mix of extant plays and new works, were produced at local, off-campus theatre spaces. Funding was provided by the Associated Student Government.
