Figuring your Grade in Media Law
Back to Law Schedule
Back to MLR Overview
You should keep up with your grade in Media Law and keep all the
papers that are returned to you.
Print out this page and then click on this link: Calculating
Media Law Grade
It will open an Excel file, which you should save on your computer
or on your jump drive. Nearly all computers have Excel software.
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE YOU START!
- Use the rows above the instructions in the Excel file. The ones
below are a sample.
- Type your scores into the cells below the blue row. (Row 2)
- Don't mess with columns B,C,D,E,F, and L (shown in light
yellow). They contain formulas -- they should adjust automatically as
you enter your scores.
- If you mess up a formula, just delete it and copy the same from
the SAMPLE at the bottom of the page.
- Move the number from the "value" row to the "total" row only
after that assignment has been returned to you.
- If you miss an assignment, you still have to move the value
number to total, because those points missed will be figured into your
grade.
- Estimating Your Score: About 35 percent of your grade is
the MLR. You can't know what you really have in the MLR until the end,
after your team evaluations. However, to estimate how you are doing
along the way, you can guess at the scores in columns R-S
