Ring-necked Duck, Aythya collaris.
October 13 to May 4. Common migrant and fairly common winter resident. A major spring influx was indicated by the presence of a total of 96 birds on March 27, 1983, on Lake Elmdale, Lake Fayetteville and the fish hatchery ponds at Centerton.

Greater Scaup, Aythya marila.
November 16 to April 7. Infrequently identified transient and winter resident. The species had not been positively identified in the western Arkansas Ozarks until 1984, when five birds were found on Bob Kidd Lake on March 13. Since that time, small numbers have been found on most of the larger bodies of water. Often the number seen is two birds or a few more. A flock of up to eight birds spent much of the winter on Lake Atalanta near Rogers where they were observe between December 1985 and mid-March 1986 and during winters 1986-1988.

Lesser Scaup, Aythya affinis.
October 13 to May 9+. Common migrant and fairly common winter resident. A single bird was seen on Lake Atalanta in the summer of 1985. A fall influx was indicated by the flock of 190, including males and females, seen on Lake Sequoyah on October 29, 1984. Large flocks of scaups are seen regularly in the region during the fall migration.
