White-rumped Sandpiper, Calidris fucicollis.
April 21 to June 16. One fall record, August 16, 1966. Locally common spring transient at the state fish hatchery in Benton County. An estimated 150 were there on May 12, 1984, and 184 on May 28, 1985. The species commonly lingers into the first half of June.

Baird's Sandpiper, Calidris bairdii.
August 26 to November 13 and March 15 to May 30. Fairly common transient in small numbers, at least locally. Most records have been obtained from Lake Sequoyah during fall when the lake level is low exposing mudflats or from the drained ponds at the state fish hatchery in Benton County. At the latter site, a peak total of 24 was reported on April 23, 1988.

Pectoral Sandpiper, Calidris melanotos.
July 13 to December 3 and March 8 to June 16+. Common transient seen in especially high numbers in fall. A peak of 180 was reported from the state fish hatchery on August 28, 1982. This "grasspiper" is found throughout the region in open habitats including drained ponds or the margins of ponds, sewage lagoons like those at the Springdale wastewater treatment facility, and low, wet, grassy pastures.
