Robin, American AL C CC C C C C C C C C C C

Wood Thrush, Hylocichla mustelina.
April 14 to October 8. Common summer resident. The habitat requirement is fairly open mature forest with an understory of small trees and shrubs in which the bird builds its nest. When habitat is suitable, including extensively forested areas in lightly developed sections of towns, it is rather common. In the Winslow area, for example, it was "very common ... especially so in the deep ravines ... It is not uncommon to see and hear as high as 100 singing males in a single afternoon around the first of May when the spring migration is at its height" (Black 1935).

American Robin, Turdus migratorius.
Common permanent resident. It forms large roosts in winter when the crops of wild berries (cedar, hackberry, blackgum, poison ivy, etc.) are available in sufficient abundance.
