Fairly common permanent resident. The highest numbers are present in the
region during winter. During the nesting season it builds its bulky nests
in thorny shrubs, small thorny trees and fence rows in open country.
European Starling,Sturnus vulgaris.
Abundant permanent resident. During winter starlings congregate into enormous
night roosts that in the Arkansas Ozarks often number in the hundreds of
thousands of individuals.
