Summer Tanager, Piranga rubra.
April 15 to October 14+. Common summer resident. A single bird with a deformed bill was photographed at a home bird feeder at Gentry where it was present from November 28 to December 18, 1981.

Scarlet Tanager, Piranga olivacea.
April 4 to September 24. Fairly common summer resident in extensive mature forests at higher elevations. During summer the species is often encountered in the forests around White Rock Mountain, in the uplands along the Buffalo River, and elsewhere.

Western Tanager, Piranga ludoviciana.
Documentation was accepted by the Arkansas Bird Records Committee for one bird observed on May 14, 1980, in Washington County.

Northern Cardinal, Cardinalis cardinalis.
Common permanent resident. During winter flocks of as many as 25 birds are sometimes seen.
