October 31 to May 1. Fairly common migrant and winter resident. often observed in wet ground situations — wet ditches, swampy forest edge, pond flats — but also in open feedlots and often as part of a mixed-species flock of blackbirds.

Yellow-headed Blackbird, Xanthocephalus xanthocephalus.
April 15 to May 12+ and August 23 to November 28+. Uncommon spring transient, somewhat rare fall transient, occasional winter visitor. Most reports have involved only a few of these birds, but 41 were counted at Centerton on April 15, 1984, and the flock remained there for more than a week. Dean Crooks reported a "nesting pair" in Benton County on May 3, 1947 (Baerg 1951), but no further information is available and there are no other such reports. This species is occasionallly seen at mid-winter.
