Assistantship
Responsibilities
- Teach and assist with direction and coordination of either the front ensemble or battery percussion sections of the Razorback Marching Band.
- Arrange music and technique development exercises for front ensemble and battery sections of the Razorback Marching Band.
- Assist with teaching of undergraduate percussion majors and non-major applied lessons.
- Assist in coordination of percussion ensembles, including directing and arranging opportunities with steel band program.
- Perform in and assist in supervising the percussion sections of large performance ensembles.
- Assist with instruction of percussion methods courses.
- Assist in maintenance and inventory management of all percussion equipment.
Qualifications

Bachelors degree in music, with an emphasis in percussion.

Previous teaching experience at the high school or university level in marching percussion, percussion ensemble, and steel band are highly preferred, but not requried.

On campus audition and interview are preferred, but alternate arrangements can be made.

M.M. in performance, music education, composition, theory, instrumental and choral conducting, and music history.
