We are going to Crescent City to see Uncle Doc and Aunt Toad and to Palm Springs to see Aunt Marilyn, Joe, and Linda. Benjamin is finally old enough to go on a real road trip (I hope). Of course, we're going when gas prices are higher than ever.

Place to go to get the best shot of the Hollywood sign

Designers of the new Hollywood & Highland center feature the Sign as the centerpiece of their architectural composition. Good shot from level 3, above the main courtyard, but photo ops abound on levels 2-5. Hollywood & Highland is located on the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue. The public parking entry is on Highland, just north of Hollywood Blvd. You can also reach Hollywood & Highland via the new Metro Rail ‘Red Line.’ Just get off at the Hollywood and Highland station, and you’re there!
