The Grand Canyon is located in Arizona. Take Highway 180 north from
Flagstaff (or Hwy 89 and Hwy 64). The canyon was cut by the
Colorado River. The Grand Canyon National Park is surrounded by the Kaibab
National Forest and two Indian reservations.
We camped just outside the National Park in some nice thick woods. We were
allowed to build a fire because we were there during the rainy season.
It rained the entire time we were there. When it wasn't raining, it was very
foggy.

There are lots of different rock layers in the canyon.
The fee to get into the park was $20
in 1997 (permit good for 7 days). Parking is horrible.
