Session I: Days 1-4 WATERS (Wonder about Teaching Environmentally Relevant Science)
Learn to incorporate the biological, chemical, and physical characteristics of stream quality into hands-on/minds-on activities suitable for grade level appropriate, classroom implementation. Experience an inquiry-based field trip with streamside sample collection, on-site analysis, and discussions regarding outdoor classroom management. Use water quality kits and the curriculum to learn watershed analysis on area streams. Learn to encourage students to make decisions that preserve healthy watersheds.
For Part 1, participants will receive:

Session 2: Days 5-6 TOTE (Total Outdoor Teaching Experience)
TOTE training offers two days of hands-on activities and field experiences with standards-based environmental education activities for science, math, and social studies classes.
Participants will receive:
Session 3: Days 7-11 GLOBE (Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment)
Explore lab and field-based studies in atmosphere/climate, biometrics, hydrology, soils, and remote sensing. Collect, analyze, and input data through the GLOBE website.
