If you already have an animal that your would like to have spayed or neutered, help may be available from the Humane Society of the Ozarks (HSO). For more information, call HSO at 501-444-PETS or visit the HSO office (413 North College, Fayetteville, AR 72701) to find out if you qualify or to apply for help through their programs.

And do we even need to mention all the reasons that spaying or neutering is a good idea? Just in case, here are some listed in a brochure from the Humane Society of the Ozarks:

  • Did you know that each day 10,000 people are born in the United States and each day 70,000 puppies and kittens are born? As long as these birth rates exist there will never be enough homes for all of the animals. As a result, millions of healthy, loving cats, dogs, puppies, and kittens face early deaths. Others are left to fend for themselves against cars, the elements, animals, and cruel humans.
