Research for Agriculture, the Environment,
Consumers, Families and Communities

The Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station conducts applied research to assist producers and processors of food and fiber, other agribusinesses, families and communities. We also conduct basic research, which adds to the body of knowledge from which future technology is developed.

Rohwer Research Station 50th Anniversary
Field Day -- Thursday, July 24

8:00 a.m.: Cotton, rice, soybean and corn research plot tours, followed by building dedication and lunch.

Lon Mann Cotton Research Station Field Day and Open House -- Thursday, Aug. 7
Registration 8:30 a.m.. Presentations and discussion on agricultural topics, plus health screenings and health insurance information.

Variety Testing
Variety Testing Programs conduct replicated field trials at multiple locations representing the major production regions in Arkansas each year.

Summer and Fall Field Days
Public invited to see research and extension projects.

Field Day at Lon Mann Cotton Research Station

Cotton breeder Fred Bourland talks about the cotton breeding program at the University of Arkansas System's Division of Agriculture during a field day in 2006 at the Lon Mann Cotton Research Center near Marianna. This year's field day and open house will be Aug. 7.
