College Student Survey(CSS)

The College Student Survey (CSS) provides feedback on students' academic and campus experiences and is designed to help assess how our students have changed since entering college. This information can be used in assessing students' expectations and attitudes about instruction, student services, and faculty/staff/student interactions.

The CSS is administered through The Higher Education Research Institute (HERI), which has conducted national surveys of college students and faculty since 1966. The CSS was initiated in 1993 to permit individual campuses to conduct follow-up studies of their students.

The University of Arkansas has participated for the past 3 years, surveying freshmen and sophomores in the spring

College Student Survey(CSS) Analysis

The analysis of the survey data was performed by the University of Arkansas Survey Research Center. The surveys used in the analysis were administered in Spring 99 and Spring 00 to freshmen and sophomores.
