Admission to teacher education and PSYC 3093 are prerequisite for all
elementary education courses.
Reading (RDNG)
Courses in reading are offered at both the undergraduate and graduate
levels. A basic course, RDNG 0003, is available to freshmen who are
seeking assistance in improving their study skill. Teaching Reading,
RDNG 3343, is a required course in the professional sequence for
elementary teachers and a recommended elective for those preparing for
teaching in middle and secondary schools.
Courses at the graduate level are designed for experienced teachers who
have the goal of improving professional competence in reading and of
qualifying for the Arkansas certificate as a K-12 Reading Specialist.
