7883 Agricultural Tax Planning - Focus on the specific provisions of the Internal Revenue code relating to farmers and ranchers; accounting methods; tax "shelters," deferred payment contracts, depreciation of farm assets; commodities trading; business associations in agriculture; unique problems in farm estate and business planning.
7942 Commodities Trading and Regulation - Federal regulation of commodities trading with an emphasis upon the rules of the Commodities Futures Trading Commission, litigation involving commodities fraud, and the remedies of participants in commodities markets.
7862 Food and Drug Law Seminar - Current problems in federal regulation of food products, drugs, and medical devices, with strong emphasis on statutory analysis. Examines issues such as cancer-causing chemicals in the food supply and the marketing of unsafe and ineffective medical products, as well as the process by which food additives and drugs are licensed for marketing.
7852 Forestry Law and Policy - Introduces legal and policy problems associated both with public and private forest and rangeland holdings, including a brief history of the public timber and range resource; federal timber policy; modern forest management law; emphasis on legal problems of private "tree farming," timber contracts; federal income tax and the timber owner.

7723 International Agricultural Transactions - An examination of trade policies, import and export laws with respect to agricultural products, negotiation of international agricultural trade agreements and the international aspects of financing of trade in agricultural commodities.
770V Master's Thesis in Agricultural Law - Research in a specialized area of agricultural law and development of a scholarly paper containing the results of this research. (Credit/no credit basis. Credit granted upon successful completion of the thesis.)
7083 Public Lands Law - The law governing the use of federal lands and resources. Resources surveyed are watershed, minerals, forests, range, wildlife, recreation and wilderness. Issues involve both private rights and public interest in common property.
7941 Research Seminar in Agricultural Law I - Instruction in advanced legal research techniques with a focus on issues in agricultural law. Initial or refresher LEXIS and WESTLAW training. Experience documents, general agriculture materials, and statistical studies. Lectures and research exercises. Non-thesis students are expected to select paper topics and prepare initial draft. Thesis-option students are expected to select a thesis topic, do a literature search, and prepare an outline. Open to LL.M. students only, on a credit/no credit basis for thesis option students; non-thesis option students graded upon completion of 7951.
7951 Research Seminar in Agricultural Law II - A continuation of 7941 Research Seminar in Agricultural Law I for non-thesis LL.M. students only. Further drafts and completion of research paper required. Presentations of papers at seminar meetings with faculty in attendance. Prerequisite: 7941 Research Seminar in Agricultural Law I. Grade for 7941 and 7951 to be given upon completion of 7951.
500V Special Topics - Included under this heading will be a variety of one-credit courses dealing with agricultural law topics not included elsewhere in the curriculum. Most of the special topics courses will be taught by agricultural law experts and scholars from around the nation. Courses taught by agricultural law specialists from other countries will also sometimes be included.
7773 Water Law - Deals with the real property principles that govern ownership rights in water and the federal and state statues and regulations that control the use of water.
Short Courses - Each year several short courses carrying one hour credit each may be offered. These courses usually meet daily for one week and are taught by visiting scholars with exceptional credentials. Some examples of topics covered in these short courses are Agricultural Bankruptcy, Agricultural Administrative Processes and Legal Aspects of Stock Production and Marketing.
