Welcome to the Arkansas Famers' Market Association website. We hope this website provides the information about Arkansas markets and resources to aid in their development. The interest in and number of farmers' markets in Arkansas are increasing at an excellent pace. More and more people are buying locally for various reasons. We hope this website contains information you can use to increase sales and/or sustainability of Arkansas farmer's markets. On May 8th, the USDA announced the availability of funds for the Value Added Producer Grant Program. This grant program is an excellent opportunity for producers to enhance or engage in value-added activities for their farm products. Applicants must be an independent producer, agriculture producer group, farmer or rancher cooperative, or majority-controlled producer-based buniness venture as defined in 7 CFR 4284, subpart A. Paper applications must be postmarked and mailed, shipped or sent overnight no later than July 6, 2009. Electronic applicaations must be received by July 6,2009. Late applications are not eligible for FY 2009 grant funding.
