Eaker Analysis
We are currently in the analysis phase of the long term Eaker project. Three years of fieldwork produced a lot of artifacts and we are working our way through them. Many of our radiocarbon dates have come back from the lab and the faunal analysis from Area F has been completed. Ceramic analysis has begun and the lithic analysis will start in January. The archeobotanical samples have been sent off and are nearing completion. Hopefully we can start writing up the final report in 2012 and start to shed some light on what was going on at Eaker and how it was similar to and/or differed from the major Mississippian mound sites that are so well known.
