GROWTH HABIT, RATE:
Densely pyramidal becoming open and irregular, grows slowly to 45 feet.
in full sun.
ADAPTABILITY:
Full sun to half shade, best fruiting in full sun. Avoid dry, windy,
unprotected sites. Prefers moist, loose acid soil.
FUNCTIONS:
Specimen, screen, hedge.
PROBLEMS AND MAINTENANCE:
Leaf miner and scale may require spraying. Fungal leaf spot, purple
blotch and spine spot (physiological).
