GROWTH HABIT, RATE:
Grows as a conical pyramid, dense, slow-growing.
ADAPTABILITY:
Cool, moist acidic soil, partial shade in south, especially in the afternoon.
FUNCTIONS:
Primarily as a Christmas tree, also specimen, not the best fir for the landscape.
PROBLEMS AND MAINTENANCE:
Not well-adapted to warm climates, woolly adelgid, caterpillars and canker.
