Tulip Tree

Flowers: Tulip-shaped, greenish with orange blotches, May, often high up in the tree and not noticed.

Foliage: Medium, glossy green, unique "mitten" shape, yellow in the fall.

Fruit: Cone or flower-like, woody, persisting throughout the winter.

Trunk, Branching, Twigs: Gray bark, finely striped with light gray or white.

 

Location: On the east side of Mullins Library, towards the south end.
