Intentionality

"Intentionality is by definition that feature of certain mental states by which they are directed at or about objects and states of affairs in the world." (P 281a footnote)

Our beliefs are about things. Our ideas are ideas of things. Our claims refer to things. These things (beliefs, ideas, claims) have intentionality.

Electrical impulses are not about anything.
