The aim of this course is to introduce the student to some of the central
problems discussed by prominent philosophers of both the past and
present, to critically examine fundamental beliefs and concepts, and to
develop in the student an interest and ability in thinking
philosophically, expressing such thought clearly, comprehending
philosophical works and positions, and reasoning intelligently about
pivotal questions.
