This course is an introduction to the nature of moral right and wrong
(metaethics), fundamental theories of what is morally right and wrong
(normative ethics), and some exploration of real life issues of moral
right and wrong (applied ethics). Views discussed will range from those
in ancient Greece to philosophers living today. Among the issues in
applied ethics we will discuss will be the morality of terrorism and of
war. This course may not make you a better person, but it should help
you think more clearly about important moral issues.
