Discussion Groups will meet October 1 - November 15

Discussion Guide (pdf)

The purpose of book discussion groups in the One Book, One Community program is to help members of the community understand the book’s contents and stimulate their thinking about a variety of social, cultural, political and economic issues. Being able to read sensibly and sensitively and think critically is a vital part of the University experience, and these groups are intended to spark that process.

There are two different ways for you to get involved:

If you would like to facilitate one of these discussion groups, we would like you to sign up by sending an email to Necia Parker-Gibson (neciap@uark.edu). She will be organizing the discussion group facilitators. Let Necia know your interest with the details on when and where you would like to provide an opportunity for individuals to participate in your book discussion -- anyone who has read the book and willing to lead a discussion can participate.

A second way for you to participate is to look over the opportunities for these discussion groups and commit to being a part of one. The names and contacts of these leaders/facilitators are posted below and we encourage you to let them know of your interest. Engage with others and continue the conversation.
