The Aladdin Project Provider Participation Guidelines

Criteria for inclusion:

1. The information is of value or interest to the community served by this service. Organizations participating should serve civic, cultural, or educational needs in the community as opposed to entities which are more commercial in nature.
   
   
2. The information does not promote any product, service, or facility offered by any person or organization engaged in such offering for profit; this prohibition does not exclude information which merely identifies but does not promote the provider. This information can include:
   • The names of products and providers,
   • The addresses and telephone or electronic addresses of providers or products,
   • Brand or trade names of products,
   • Value-neutral descriptions of products or services,
   • Non-promotional slogans,
   • Historical information.

     The information cannot include:

   • Comparative or qualitative language;
   • Price information, even oblique references to price;
   • Calls to action; (i.e., buy this product!)
   • "Non-identifying" verbosity
   • Inducements to buy, sell, or lease.
     
     
3. The information does not express the views of any person with respect to any matter of public importance or interest.
   
   
4. The information does not support or oppose any candidate for political office.
