Facilities
Archeology Labs
Excavation equipment, wet labs, artifact processing labs, advanced microscopes, topographic and geophysical surveying instruments, photographic equipment (traditional and digital), computers, and a dark room are available.
Biological Anthropology Labs
The department possesses microscopes, thin-sectioning, x-ray, photographic equipment, osteological instruments, skeletal collections, morphometric and computer image analysis equipment.
Computer Labs
Computer Labs are easily accessible in Old Main, nearby Ozark Hall, the J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. Center for Academic Excellence, and elsewhere. Windows pentium, Macintosh, and Unix labs are available together with state-of-the-art digitizing equipment, graphics stations, printers, plotters, and software through the Center for Advanced Spatial Technologies.
James A. Scholtz Reading Room (Main 332)
Jim
Scholtz received his M.A. from the University of Arkansas. At the
time of his sudden death in 1978, he was assistant director of
the University Museum. His library was given to the departmentto
establish a Reading Room. Books cannot be checked out of the Reading
Room.
