Ark. Hist. Framework: 5.1.14 and 4.1.13 and 1.1.14 and 1.1.11

Objective: For students to reseach the history of Greers Ferry Dam, using the internet.

Set: The students will research Greers Ferry Dam using the internet. They will be given certain questions that they must answer. They will also be required to take note of other things of the history that THEY find interesting.  After finding the information, they will be required to share this information with their class in one of the following ways:  Create a 20 question worksheet, Create a Cross-word puzzle, Create a word find, create a before and after map, other ideas.

Materials: Computer with Internet access. Notebook paper and writing utensil

*Ecological impact
*Student found interesting facts

Key Facts: They will need to include the key facts, from above, in whatever form they choose to share their information with the class

Activities: The internet search. After 1 and 1/2 days of school internet use, the rest needs to be done of the students own time. The creation of the finished product, is also done of the students own time, in the following 2-3 days. Have each students bring their finished product to class. The students will have others do their worksheets, and those doing the maps will share with the class.

Closure: Answer students questions on how to do this project, and go to the library

Assessment: The students will be graded on questions the teacher requires an answer for. This probably needs to be in the form of a worksheet. They will also be graded on their worksheets/map that they create and share. Do not take a grade on how the students answer their peers worksheets.
