The Department of Communication annually honors its finest students with four separate awards. Norman DeMarco Scholarship: Established in honor of a former professor in the department. Virgil and Lillian Baker Scholarship: Established in honor of two former professors in the department. M. Blair Hart Scholarship: Established in honor of a former professor in the department. Athens Scholars in Communication: Awarded annually to outstanding communication seniors selected by the faculty on the basis of academic achievement and service to the campus and the community.
