summer interns get razorback roundup in gear
Each spring the selection process
begins for the Razorback Roundup horse sale
to be conducted the following fall.
Once the selection process is complete,
summer interns will begin prepping the
horses. This process includes fitting,
addressing health and nutritional issues,
grooming and many photography sessions.
The photographs will be used in the online
and paper catalogs for marketing purposes.
Once classes start up in August, students
enrolled in "Principles of Equine Behavior &
Training" will begin training the horses.
Meticulous journals are kept regarding each
horses progress and accomplishments.
Also noted are any problems that may occur,
how they are handled and the outcome.
The journals are made available on sale day
for all prospective buyers to view.
The sale is conducted by students of
"Principles of Equine Behavior & Training"
as well as "Horse & Livestock
Merchandising". This year's sale will
be held on November 15 at the Pauline
Whitaker Animal Science Arena in
Fayetteville. Pictured above are
