All
MFA students have the opportunity to participate in the Writers
In The Schools (WITS) program, which sends teams of writers
into the Arkansas public schools to conduct two-day workshops
with students. In addition to refining their teaching skills
and their knowledge of poetry and fiction, these outreach
participants receive fellowships of $100-$325 per trip (plus
driving expenses) to support the work that they do. Graduate
students may complete as few or as many WITS trips as they
choose, and they will have the opportunity to join this program
shortly after they enroll in the MFA program.
